- Black cells serve as dividers and cannot be written in.
- Intersecting letters must satisfy both the Across and Down clues simultaneously.

- Solve Short 3-Letter Words First: Short words have fewer possibilities and provide crucial starting crossing letters for longer words.
- Look for Plural and Tense Endings: If a clue is plural, the answer almost always ends in "S". Past-tense clues often end in "ED".
