Play 8x8 Checkers (Draughts) online. Jump opponent pieces, reach the back row to promote to King, and capture all pieces against AI opponents.

Move diagonal on dark squares. Jump enemy pieces to capture them. Mandatory multi-jumps apply! Crown your pieces by reaching the opponent baseline.

Checkers is played on the 32 dark squares of an 8x8 board with 12 pieces per player.
Standard pieces move forward diagonally by 1 square.
Capturing is accomplished by jumping over an adjacent enemy piece onto an empty square beyond it.
If a jump capture is available, it is mandatory. Multi-jumps must continue if additional jumps are possible.
Reaching the opponent's back rank crowns a piece as a King, allowing it to move and jump backwards.

Protect Your Back Row: Keeping pieces on your starting back row prevents your opponent from crowning Kings early in the match.
Control the Center (Golden Squares): Controlling the center 4 squares prevents enemy pieces from advancing along the flanks.
Sacrifice to Set Up Multi-Jumps: Intentionally offering a single piece can force your opponent into a mandatory jump that opens up a triple-jump counter-attack.
Advance in Tandem: Keep your checkers supported by a trailing piece so they cannot be jumped without a reciprocal capture.

Yes! In official American/English Checkers (Draughts), jumping an opponent piece is mandatory whenever a valid jump is on the board.

While standard checkers can only move forward, King pieces can move and jump both forwards and backwards diagonally.
