📖 How to Play & Game Overview
Use Arrow Keys or Swipe to slide tiles. Matching tiles combine (2+2=4, 4+4=8, 8+8=16). Reach the 2048 tile to win!
Core Game Rules:
- The game is played on a 4x4 grid with sliding numbered tiles.
- Swiping or pressing an arrow key shifts all tiles as far as possible in that direction.
- When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into a single tile with double the value (e.g., 2+2=4, 1024+1024=2048).
- After every valid move, a new tile (either a 2 or a 4) randomly spawns in an empty spot.
- You win by creating the 2048 tile! The game can continue beyond 2048 to reach 4096, 8192, and higher.
Winning Strategies & Tips:
- The Corner Lock Strategy: Pick one corner (e.g. bottom-left) and build your highest value tile there. Never move that tile out of its corner!
- Build Monotonic Decreasing Rows: Keep your highest tile in the corner, second highest next to it, third highest next, forming a snake-like chain of descending numbers.
- Use Only 3 Directions: If your high tile is locked in the bottom-left, only swipe DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT. Avoid pressing UP unless you have zero other moves.
- Keep the Bottom Row Full: Ensure all 4 slots in your anchor row stay filled with tiles so a stray swipe won't displace your highest tile.
